Govt moves LHC to restrict Dr. Qadeer’s movements

LAHORE, Jan 19 : The federal government has moved the Lahore High Court (LHC) seeking a ban on the free movement of renowned nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan.

The government has pleaded the court to bind the father of Pakistan’s nuclear programme to get “security clearance” before travelling.

The superior court has admitted the application and has issued notices to Dr. Khan to appear before the court on January 25.

The application has also moved the court to question Dr. Khan for revealing national secrets to US daily Washington Post and stopping him from giving interviews to the newspapers.
