LAHORE, Jan 27: Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has said that all countrymen are same in the eyes of law and all should be treated under the same law without differentiation of political attachment.
Addressing a seminar here at private University on Wednesday, Salman Taseer blamed that Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) led provincial government was partial in taking actions against wrong doers and those affiliated with party were spared.
He said that provincial government demolished the illegal plazas across city but illegal plaza owned by Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah was not included in action due his political attachment with PML-N which is violation of law.
“Sanaullah Rana or Shumaila Rana are equal in the eyes of law therefore should be treated equivalently”, he maintained.
He said that there is law for law-breakers and those if treated against prevailing law there would be no difference between law-breakers and law enforcers.
The Governor Punjab said that Pakistan People Party (PPP) restored the democracy in the country despite hurdles and opposition from anti-democratic parties and elements.
In is the honour for PPP that it forced former dictator Pervez Musharraf to step down and power was transferred to democratic government without any chaos or violence, he added.
Taseer said that the PPP desired to take all the stakeholders along in the larger interest of country and it was due to the long term policies of the PPP that all political parties are included in the democratic setup.
