Five British nationals held at Islamabad Airport

ISLAMABAD, Jan 19 : The FIA have arrested five British nationals from Islamabad Airport for illegally transferring their boarding passes to some other travellers.

According to FIA sources, the five persons were arrested over suspicions when they were boarding on a Dubai bound flight of Air Blue.

“These people had obtained boarding passes for Manchester, UK, but later handed over their boarding passes to some unidentified persons, who have already left for Manchester,” FIA sources said the arrested persons were British nationals of Pakistani origin.

Official sources identified the five arrested persons as Ziaul Haq Usman, Asghr, Abid and Fazl-e-Haq, who obtained their boarding passes for Manchester, but instead of boarding the flight designate, they handed their boarding passes to some unknown persons.

The accused later obtained other boarding cards for a Dubai bound flight of Air Blue, when FIA officials stopped them for investigations.

The identity of the Manchester going flight could not be ascertained immediately, however, airport sources said, until the scam came to the knowledge of the FIA, the Manchester bound flight had left for its destination.
