Confrontation among key institutions would be disastrous: Jan Jamali

ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 : Deputy Chairman Senate Jan Muhammad Jamali has said that in the wake of prevailing situation in the country confrontation among the key institutions would be disastrous for the country and countrymen.

In an exclusive interview with Independent News Pakistan (INP) news agency on Wednesday, Jan Jamali said that confrontation among institutions would definitely give rise to crises and chaos and in the prevailing situation and the country was not in a position to afford any minor adventure.

He said that it was the high time that all political forces, parliamentarians should show restraint and cooperate with each other to save the country from any internal chaos and instability.

Deputy Chairman Senate said that though entire country was in the grip of terrorism and uncertainty, however law and order situation in Balochistan and NWFP was at worse as compared to other two provinces.

He said that deteriorating law and order situation in the country has adversely hurt the economy, inflation has further added to the hardships of people who were worried to earn two times bread for them and their families.

The Deputy Chairman expressed his concern over Indian aggression at Eastern border and stoppage of water share meant for Pakistan , violating the Indus Water treaty.

He blamed that Indian was putting all out efforts through its intelligence agencies to create rift and confrontations among the political leaders and provinces to fulfill its nefarious designs.

Jamali said that democratic and parliamentary forces would have to play their role in taking country out of prevailing crises. Media can also play a remarkable role in this regard, he added.

To a question he said that safeguarding the national interests is not only duty of political leadership or government, but we all countrymen are responsible to play our role.
