OCCUPIED JERUSALEM,-- The Palestinian almajd website has warned that the captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit might die in captivity due to his government's intransigence.
The site said on Monday that the majority of Israelis were backing the prisoners exchange deal whatever the price may be in order to return Shalit to his family safe and sound even if the government had to release tens of "dangerous prisoners".
It noted that an Israeli opinion poll showed that almost 70% of the Israelis supported the deal in return for what Hamas demands.
A number of bereaved Israeli families sent a message to Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu urging him to go ahead in concluding the deal, the website said, but noted that the Israeli cabinet consisting of six ministers in addition to Netanyahu was divided over the deal with three supporting it and three opposing.
