Nawaz opposes mid term polls

LAHORE, Jan 27 : Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has opposed any in house change or mid term polls saying such steps would not be appropriate as the country is passing through critical juncture of its history.

Talking to media persons before leaving for Islamabad here on Thursday to attend the meeting of PML-N parliamentary committee constituted to review the implementation of 10 points agenda, Nawaz Sharif said that PML-N could look for alternate options if federal government did not show positive attitude to implement the 10 points agenda within 45 days.

Nawaz said that masses are annoyed and fed up with the performance of sitting government as their problems have increased manifold including inflation, gas and electricity loadshedding and unemployment.

The PML-N Qauid said that his party feels for the sufferings of common man but it was not in favour of using others shoulders to come into power.

He said that PML-N's 10 point agenda was aimed at lessening burden of common man and there were no political or party interests included in the agenda.

He said that we do not want to destabilize the country through any undemocratic action but would continue peaceful efforts to resolve the crises faced by country and its people.

"We want to save the democratic system and when we follow traditions, we are accused of siding with the PPP, and media is also involved in it," he added.

To a question about US stance regarding his policies, Nawaz said he was not aware of US viewpoint about him and PML-N strategies.

However he said they have nothing to do with US stance as PML-N enjoys complete support of the masses and does not want US or army support to come into power.
